KINGDOMS COLLIDE

The phrase “Kingdom of God” communicates the idea that God is King of the Universe, Creator of all things, Sovereign in Power.  It also describes persons who have surrendered their life to God, who are followers and disciples of Jesus – Christians.
The rule and reign of God is a heart and life matter.  You are a part of the kingdom of God, He is your King, and His ways rule in your life.  That kingdom will always collide with other philosophies, lifestyles, and loyalties in the hearts and minds of people.
We know that when God reigns in our lives, when we are in His Kingdom, there will be collisions with other kingdoms.  Particularly we’ve learned that (1) when human live is devalued, hate leads to murder; (2) when we stray from God’s design in human sexuality, we tarnish God’s beautiful gift intended to bond a man and a woman in the holiness of marriage.
In coming weeks we’ll see how kingdom of God persons act redemptively and how to treat enemies.  This Sunday, we will learn God’s perspective on honesty and integrity.
