Process
An intentional leader in a relational environment using a reproducible process produces an infinite number of disciples.
We see a day when First Baptist Church leads families to continue the process of making disciples now and in future generations until Jesus returns. The children of today’s families will be the disciples and disciple-makers of tomorrow.
While there are many doctrines and beliefs held by Christians, the following represent at our core, basic beliefs.
We believe in God. God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe the Bible is God’s inerrant Word and in its authority in our lives.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, by Him only can a person be saved. We believe that He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and that He is coming again.
We believe people were created by God, have sinned against God, and are deeply loved by God. We believe that by God’s grace, through faith in Christ and repentance, people can have a relationship with God.
We believe that marriage and family is foundational to society and that they are God’s idea. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between God, a man, and a woman.
We believe that all Christians are gifted by the Holy Spirit and called to serve God and others for His glory – that all members are ministers.
We believe that Jesus established the church as the center of kingdom life and ministry. It is composed of born-again believers. First Baptist Church of Palmer is an independent/autonomous church that freely cooperates with The Southern Baptist Convention and other partnerships. We observe the Lord’s Supper and practice believers baptism by immersion.
We believe the church’s purpose as commissioned by Jesus is to make disciples of all nations.
We believe that people will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.
In the essentials, the Bible is our guide, in matters of liberty and conscience, brotherly love is our guide.
